On the way to architecture and art in public space
Fountains, squares and sculptures - the experience of art does not only take place in museums. Squares and facades in urban spaces are often designed and structured by reliefs, fountains and sculptures. While some works are prominently placed, little is known about many others. Works of art in public spaces are associated with different stages of urban development and are often commissioned. As artistic creations of a time, they bear witness to contemporary styles, preferences, visions and programmes in the same way as important architecture. You can learn more about individual works of art, their designers and history in the StadtKunstTours. All tours can be booked individually on request. Please send enquiries for individual tour bookings to ticket-kunstmuseum@muelheim-ruhr.de.
